Next April 4 , the sky becomes the protagonist at LoRefugi with a proposal designed for the whole family: A JOURNEY THROUGH THE PLANETS , an immersive experience inside a planetarium that will allow us to discover the universe in a comfortable, spectacular and exciting way.
At Montsant Natura , we want to bring astronomy closer to young and old with an informative and surprising activity that combines learning and fascination. During the morning we will offer two family sessions, at 11 am and 12 pm , so that everyone can find their moment to take off into the cosmos.
The planetarium is an inflatable dome equipped with 360º fulldome projection technology in 4K resolution and surround sound , which completely transforms the interior space. Upon entering, the sensation is immediate: the ceiling disappears and we find ourselves surrounded by stars, planets and galaxies. The images cover the entire surface of the dome, generating an immersive experience that makes us feel as if we were really traveling through space.
A journey through the solar system
With A JOURNEY THROUGH THE PLANETS , we will embark on an exciting adventure throughout the solar system. We will visit Mercury, the planet closest to the Sun; Venus, enveloped in a dense and mysterious atmosphere; Earth, our home; and Mars, with its characteristic red color. We will stop before the immensity of Jupiter, admire the spectacular rings of Saturn and explore the distant worlds of Uranus and Neptune.
During the session we will discover some of the most surprising characteristics of each of the planets: their dimensions, extreme temperatures, giant storms or the satellites that accompany them. All explained in clear, visual language adapted to a family audience, so that children understand, get excited and ask questions, and so that adults can once again feel the curiosity that arises from looking up at the sky.
This activity is not just a projection; it is a sensory experience that awakens the imagination and invites you to learn in a different way. The combination of high-quality images and surround sound creates a captivating atmosphere that makes the 40-50 minute session fly by.
A privileged environment to look at the sky
LoRefugi is a particularly significant space to host this activity. It is the first accommodation in the Montsant Natural Park to have obtained Starlight certification , a recognition that guarantees the exceptional quality of its night sky and the commitment to protecting natural darkness.
With this proposal we want to strengthen this link with the sky and the territory. The Starlight certification is not just a distinction, but a clear commitment to preserving one of the great treasures of Montsant: the possibility of contemplating a clean sky, full of stars and free from light pollution.
