Autumn has a special magic. The forest changes color, the humidity transforms the textures and the ground is filled with surprising shapes. It is the perfect time to stop, bend down and take a closer look. The Autumn Macro Workshop in Priorat is an experience designed for people passionate about macro photography, nature photography and the tiniest detail.
On November 7th we propose an immersive day of macrophotography of mushrooms and autumn plants, where we will work on technique, composition and perspective in a privileged natural environment. Autumn in Priorat offers a spectacular chromatic and biological richness: shiny mosses, wet leaves, fungi of impossible shapes and textures that only appear at this time of year.
Macro photography of mushrooms and autumn nature
During the morning we will travel to an area selected for its mycological and plant diversity. The Priorat, with its Mediterranean forests and shady areas, is an ideal setting for macro photography of mushrooms and small organisms.
We will work on essential aspects of macrophotography in natural environments:
· Precise depth of field control
· Manual focus and focus stacking (practical introduction)
· Management of natural light in shady environments
· Use of diffusers and reflectors
· Creative composition with backgrounds and textures
You will learn how to highlight the subject, how to work with bokeh in macro photography and how to capture the humid and intimate atmosphere of the autumn forest. The key is not only technique, but also patience and observation.
With the expert eye of Jordi Bru
The activity will be led by Jordi Bru , photographer and biologist. This combination makes the workshop much more than a simple photographic outing. With him you will learn to identify mushroom species, understand their habitat and move with respect for the natural environment.
The world of mycology is fascinating. Each mushroom has a structure, a texture and a story. Knowing what you are photographing helps you anticipate optimal framing, angles and moments. Jordi will share practical tricks to achieve more powerful, cleaner images with a clear visual narrative.
Meeting point and lunch at LoRefugi
As is tradition, the meeting point will be LoRefugi , in Cornudella de Montsant. From there we will organize ourselves to go to the chosen area.
After an intense morning of macro photography in Priorat, we will return to LoRefugi for lunch together. This conversation space is an essential part of the workshop: we will share images, discuss technical difficulties, talk about composition and exchange experiences. Learning in community is one of the best ways to grow as a photographer.
Macro photography editing workshop
In the afternoon we will complete the day with a photographic editing workshop focused on autumn macro. We will see how to enhance textures, highlight details and adjust colors without losing naturalness. We will work on the digital development flow to ensure that each image faithfully reflects the atmosphere of the forest.
Editing is a fundamental part of professional macro photography. Knowing how to balance light, contrast, and color is what transforms a good capture into a memorable image.
An experience to perfect your look
This autumn macro photography workshop is not just an educational activity. It is an opportunity to reconnect with the slow rhythm of the forest, to train your gaze and to discover that the greatness of nature is often hidden in the smallest details.
If you are passionate about nature photography in Priorat, if you want to delve deeper into mushroom macrophotography and improve your technique in an inspiring environment, November 7th is an essential date.
