On August 12, 2026 , Priorat will experience an unrepeatable night: an alignment of astronomical events that turn this date into a unique opportunity for night photographers passionate about nature, the sky and light. A great solar eclipse , the visible presence of the Milky Way in all its splendor and the rain of stars of the Llàgrimes de Sant Llorenç (Perseids) coinciding in the firmament. And the best setting to immortalize it? Priorat , one of the places with the cleanest and darkest night sky in Catalonia , recognized for its low light pollution and spectacular landscapes.
Activity for experienced night photographers
This photographic outing in Priorat is designed exclusively for people who already have knowledge and practice in night photography , astropasia or light painting. It is not an introductory activity, but a meeting to make the most of a night with unique conditions, share knowledge and capture unique images.
What will we capture?
· Partial solar eclipse at sunset: an ideal moment to combine the silhouette of the Priorat landscape with the partially covered shape of the sun.
· Summer Milky Way , visible and aligned with the most photogenic landscapes in the territory.
· Perseid meteor shower (Tears of Saint Lawrence) , with peaks of maximum intensity during the night.
· Possibility of photographing star trails , timelapse and astroscapes with vineyards, hermitages, cliffs or elements of traditional architecture.
Why in Priorat?
The Priorat is a paradise for dark sky photography . Far from the big cities, with a pristine natural environment, marked relief and a rich landscape identity, it offers the ideal conditions for practicing astronomical photography . The nights are clear, stable, and the territory presents a great variety of compositional elements: terraced vineyards, solitary hermitages, steep mountains and charming villages.

This trip does not include basic training in night photography. You must bring your own equipment and master the settings for long exposure and high ISO.
