Ratafia is a sweet macerated alcoholic drink that is usually taken as a digestive. One of the main elements is green walnuts, which is why it is made once a year, usually between June and July.
If you are one of those who like a syrup and want to learn how to make your own ratafia, this activity is for you!
We will start the workshop, with the winemaker Jesús Torres, with an easy and easy walk at the foot of Montsant, to collect some of the plants and flowers we will use.
When we return to LoRefugi we will discover the history of this drink and the basic principles of making a ratafia or liqueur.
Then, with Jesus’ instructions, each person will prepare their maceration with the herbs, spices and/or fruits they deem appropriate. To finish the process at home, after the 40 days of “sun and calm”, you will receive an instruction manual.
We will finish the workshop with a small taste of some homemade and commercial ratafies.
NOTE: The price includes a liter of alcoholic base. Therefore, if any participant wants more, they will need to book in advance.
