Spring in Priorat is an explosion of life. The vineyards begin to awaken, the banks are filled with wildflowers and every corner hides textures, colors and shapes that go unnoticed… until you put a macro lens in front of them. And that is precisely what we propose: to stop, get closer and discover a fascinating universe on a small scale with our Spring Macro Workshop .

This is an experience designed for people passionate about macro photography, nature photography and detail. An intense morning to explore the territory with camera in hand, learn specific techniques for macro photography of flowers and insects, and train your eyes to capture what often goes unnoticed.

A privileged setting

The Priorat offers an extraordinary natural richness in spring. We will walk through an area carefully selected for its botanical and landscape values, looking for wildflowers, plant textures, pollinating insects and small details that become authentic works of art when you look at them closely.

We will work on key aspects of macro photography in open field:
·
Depth of field control
·
Use of natural light and reflectors
·
Creative composition in natural environments
· Manual focus and precision techniques
·
Background and bokeh management

It’s not just about taking photos, but about understanding the scene, respecting the environment and telling a story with each image.

From the hand of Jordi Bru: photography and biology

The workshop will be led by Jordi Bru , photographer and biologist, a perfect combination for an activity of this type. His perspective is not only technical, but also scientific and sensitive. With him you will learn to identify species, understand insect behavior and anticipate situations to achieve the best possible photograph.

This dual aspect—photography and knowledge of the natural environment—makes the workshop a much more complete experience. Not only will you improve your technique in macro nature photography, but you will also learn more about the biodiversity of the territory.

Morning field trip and lunch at LoRefugi

We will meet in the morning at LoRefugi , the starting point of the day. From there we will travel to the chosen location to begin the practical session.

After an intense morning of macro photography in Priorat, we will return to LoRefugi for lunch together. This moment is key: we will share feelings, review some images, discuss difficulties and discoveries. It is often in these conversations that new ideas and learnings are born.

Macro photography editing workshop

In the afternoon we will complete the experience with a photo editing workshop focused specifically on macro. We will learn how to enhance detail, work with textures, adjust contrasts and highlight colors without losing naturalness. The goal is for each photograph to maintain its essence, but gain visual strength.

We will talk about workflow, digital development and editing criteria for professional macro photography, because the work doesn’t end in the field: good editing is essential to take the image to the next level.

An experience to improve technique

This workshop is not just a photography outing. It is an opportunity to reconnect with nature, train patience, educate your gaze and share passion with other people who experience spring photography with the same intensity as you.

If you are passionate about macrophotography, if you enjoy looking for beauty in small things and want to perfect your technique in a privileged natural environment like Priorat, this May 16th you have an essential appointment.

Places are limited to guarantee a personalized and quality experience.

Prepare your macro lens, charge your batteries and come discover that, in spring, the smallest Priorat is immense.
