The experience begins in the center of Cornudella de Montsant , a town with a strong winemaking legacy and located in a privileged environment between the Serra de Montsant Natural Park. and the Prades Mountains. From here we will begin a walk that will take us to discover the landscape that gives life to the wines of the DO Montsant.

Walking your dog through vineyards is an authentic way to learn how soil and climate influence the personality of wines. Along the route we will observe vineyards planted in Calcareous soils, full of pebbles and stone , which bring minerality and complexity to the wines that we will later taste.

To the hermitage of Sant Joan del Codolar

Our path will take us to the hermitage of Sant Joan del Codolar., one of the most emblematic spaces of the Serra de Montsant. Located at the foot of the impressive cliffs, this hermitage is a place full of history and spirituality, which has been a place of pilgrimage for centuries.

From here we will enjoy spectacular views . over the valley and surrounding mountains. An ideal moment to pause, take a deep breath and let both you and your dog connect with the power of the landscape. It is also a perfect spot to take photos and immortalize the adventure.

The descent along the Carthusian path

We will return following the old Carthusian path., a historical route that connected the Carthusian Monastery of Escaladei with Cornudella and other towns in the region. Walking along this ancient path is a way to relive the past, when the Carthusian monks were the first to introduce the cultivation of vines in the Priorat.

This descent will take us back to the village, closing a circle that unites nature, history and wine heritage.

Wine tasting at the Cornudella Wine Cathedral

The experience culminates in the Celler Cooperatiu de Cornudella , known as the Cathedral of the Wine of Montsant nord. This modernist winery, the work of the architect Cèsar Martinell (a disciple of Antoni Gaudí), is a true treasure of Catalan wine heritage and an essential place for any wine lover.

Here in the outdoor tasting space, we will enjoy a guided tasting of three wines those made with the native varieties that define the area, such as Grenache and Carignan. Our guides will explain the characteristics of each wine, its relationship with the terroir we have explored and the secrets of the production in the winery.
